READY FOR A NEW BEGINNING?
So What is Grief?
When something we are familiar with ends or changes, it produces an emotional response. This is GRIEF.
Grief is normal and natural. But if we dismiss it and leave it unchecked, it becomes Unresolved (Maladaptive) Grief which can bring incredible chaos and disruption to our health, relationships and finances. The sad truth is we allow society to condition us to intellectualize, rationalize or spiritualize our painful emotions in order to survive and fit in...and we end up stuck. Yet, grief is not intellectual. Your heart is broken. It is emotional.
To further complicate things, the majority of us tend to relate grief only to death, so if we haven't experienced a death in our life, we may be too quick to dismiss grief and blame it on burnout, being overwhelmed anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, mental illness and more. Yet, research shows that in our lifetime we can face 42+ grieving experiences (Social Readjustment Rating Scale, Holmes TH, Rahe RH, 1967) that can adversely impact our life.
And this does not include all the loss and changes that COVID has brought into our lives.

The Grief Recovery Institute's Grief Recovery Method is the only Grief Support Program to have received the distinction of being evidence based!
The program helped me navigate through feelings I was experiencing and helped me uncover feelings I was not considering or recognizing. Could not have processed so much in 8 weeks without the program facilitator's guidance. Helped me see that the cloud of sadness would not be a forever thing if I worked through my thoughts and pain in the way the program guided me. Thankful that such a program is available."~
